Buck is no stranger to being alone. He spent years fending for himself after leaving the house he grew up in, and even the years before that, he didn’t really have anyone.
He thought he had found a family with the 118. He had a captain he came to see as a father, found a mother in Athena and a wider family from his coworkers and theirs. Buck even thought he might have a chance at something more with the man who was his best friend and his son. He should have known better.-+-

Buck 1.0 was impulsive, wildly charismatic, and, let’s be honest, extremely sexually active. Everyone knew that.
What no one really knew, though, was that Buck had always been that way—well, at least since Maddie had left. Not since he was twelve, obviously, but by the time he was fourteen, he'd had his first time, and by sophomore year, he’d already hooked up with about half of his grade and a good third of the grade below.And this is important to understand.
