Summary
It is often said that revenge is a dish best served cold. However, some people think it's best served not at all. Serena for her part is one of them. But if she's quiet, during those restless times in bed at four a.m., she hears a whisper through the faint song of awakening flying types that makes it to her room. And there'll come a moment when she'll be inclined to acknowledge that the voice beckoning her to come is to be listened to.
Serena is an adult. She's had a rescue protocol to get her out of her debt since day one. It became priority one in her life since the first debt collectors showed up at her doorstep. What does she want? A very limited kind of freedom. Legitimate, yes, but obtainable? At least each lunch skipped brings her a step closer, she'd like to say. But the stairways to her goal stretches forever and her feet hurt. The path she chose in response to one tragedy piling on top of the next includes abstinence from immaterial goods like human affection as well, because that's what life thought her before.

Kind of a quick retelling of Sw/Sh with some minor elements changed for arbitrary "i prefer that actually" reasons until the time skip, whenever i get to that.
