The mission is utterly fucked.
Fitzroy had given him all the intel before he made his way from a rundown hostel in Cambodia to the target in southern Laos. There was not much to go on, but Fitz had told him that a DEA agent named Eddie Gamboa was stranded in one of the military detention camps, and Court was the closest asset to his last known location. Court had been lying low to cool off between operations, but it had seemed like a relatively simple undertaking to find one guy and extract him from a detention camp.
At full health, it would have been just another job.
Right now, Courtland Gentry was nowhere near his full capabilities.

Maybe it’s just him after all, to live as the last Gentry. Part of him wants to go back to that house, just as a trial to make sure it’s true.
The more reasonable part of him calmly flags down a taxi and climbs in the back. His gaze quickly combs over the driver, dismantling him piece by piece as he examines the remains. The driver is not much younger than Six. Short blond hair, slit dark eyes, a broadly unkind face. He’s muscled but lean. He sits as if there isn’t a gun strapped to his hip or tucked in the back of his jeans beneath his uniform’s canvas jacket.
Not a threat at all, Six decides.

That elicits a laugh from Sebastian that’s better than almost any music. “Guess I’ll have to work for it.”

Driver moves to a nicer part of LA and finds a new bar; Seb is still slightly hung up on Mia but is ready to move on; and Jacob uproots his whole life to move to LA; somehow the three of them find each other
