"Where are you going?" Max mumbled, his voice thick with sleep, his face buried against Charles' chest.
"I need to get up. I have morning workout, remember?" Charles tried to peel Max’s arms off gently, but Max only clung harder, legs now tangling with his.
Sometimes, it was just unbelievable to think about how Max, the fierce lion, the unstoppable beast on track, was the same boy who bargained with a soft, sweet voice just for snuggling into his lover for some more minutes.
Charles couldn’t help but become hopelessly endeared by it.
Or, 4 times Max was being extra clingy, and 1 time Charles knew why.

His voice comes out slightly breathless, and if he had the energy he would hit himself for it, "Max? What are you doing here? Why are you not out celebrating?"
Max just blinks at him, honey slow and sweet, eyelashes wet and eyes wide as he scans Charles, in his boxer shorts and ancient stolen Ferrari hoodie. He doesn't answer his question.
or, the post las vegas 2024 gp fic, Charles is sad and Max - massively drunk, incoherent, four time world champion - misses his favourite person, so, naturally, he decides to ditch the party to go give him a hug.

Summary
He doesn’t really know how he ended up he ended up in Max's driver's room after he crashed out at the first corner on lap one, but as he buries his face into Petit Lion’s mane, he finds that he doesn’t really care.
He remembers getting out of the wreck that had become of his Ferrari. He remembers getting a ride from the medical car. He remembers stopping by the Ferrari hospitality, and then getting dismissed quickly because there wasn’t much race to debrief over. He remembers going to his driver’s room to curl up with a warm, soft blanket and Petit Lion. He remembers feeling unsettled in his little trackside nest.
Petit Lion has stopped smelling like Max.
Charles is halfway to the Red Bull motorhome—wrapped in a blanket, and holding Petit Lion tight to his chest—before he realises what he’s doing. He stops in the middle of the paddock. Is he really going to break into Max’s driver’s room to steal something?
Pierre used to steal things for Charles all of the time. Yuki still steals Max’s items for Charles. Max must know that Charles is getting his items at the end of the day, surely Max wouldn’t mind if they cut out the middleman.
