Summary
Just the idea of having his soulmark disfigured or destroyed... it sent chills down Hawks’ spine. His own soulmate might be dead, but he couldn’t imagine not having Touya’s name marking his skin. The mere thought had him resisting the urge to pull his sleeve up and check to see it was still there.
Did Dabi do this to himself, he wondered? Did he burn his own soulmark away? The thought was incomprehensible. Dabi was a dangerous villain who was capable of many things, kidnapping, conspiracy, and murder just to name a few. But could someone, even someone like him, do something so vile to themselves? Even villains had to care about their soulmates, right?

But he can’t pay attention to that, not when it’s happening again; Zack’s chest swelling with suppressed feelings. With love and adoration, so deep its almost painful, doubly so when Cloud is before him, vulnerable and uncertain. Questioning himself. Zack wants to rip himself apart at the seams rather than keep all this locked up inside his heart. Zack has to tell him. Sooner or later, he’s just going to blurt it out at the worst moment, spill his secret in a way that embarrasses Cloud, mortifies them both something terrible and awful.
“Cloud—” Zack starts, cutting off when Cloud’s eyes widen, jerking out of Zack’s gentle hold.Alternatively: Five (5) times Zack almost confesses, and the one (1) time Cloud accidentally does.

Riku looked at Sora with politely curious eyes. Cautiously friendly eyes. It might as well have been the same. And Sora never knew what to say anymore. That was his best friend and his best friend wasn’t remembering him. He didn’t even know how Riku could be okay, with everything severed like that. Sora wouldn’t be the same person if Riku had disappeared from his memories, every part of them was intertwined.
It was hard to yell at the boy you loved for sacrificing everything he had for you when he didn’t remember doing it.
