Summary
“Morning.”
“Afternoon, actually,” Beatrice says just because she knows it’ll make Ava smile. She gets her wish.
“C’mon,” Ava says, smoothly sliding from the bed to her feet, using their still joined hands to pull Beatrice with her. “You can tell me about traveling Europe while we eat”—she pauses dramatically; Beatrice braces herself for it—“I’m Hungary for some Turkey.”
Out of all things she could’ve said, this is what springs Beatrice into action, using her free hand to pull Ava by her waist until they’re chest to chest. She kisses the cheeky grin on Ava’s face; every time they do this, she thinks it’s better than the last.
or,
Beatrice eventually goes back to the Alps to find herself; she finds her faith in Ava has never been misplaced.

Summary
"I don't follow," Ava admits, her lips pursed in concentration.
"Ava," Beatrice huffs, eyes averted. "I'm a lesbian."
Ava stares at her for a moment, her brows furrowed. Then, she chuckles, "I thought you were a librarian."OR, Ava works in the cafe across the library, and Beatrice works in the library across the cafe. They are friends—or at least Ava always thought they were friends—until she makes a discovery about the both of them.

Summary
“The church was… the only path before me, at the time, and I never questioned it," Beatrice admits.
“And now?” he asks, looking concerned, and Bea realizes she’s curled into herself against the counter. She didn’t even notice how small she’d become. He offers her the sugar. She takes it.
“Now, I think differently,” Beatrice says, rising to her full height, rolling her shoulders back. Now, the future is an open road, and she’s got her hands at ten and two and her foot on the gas.
Now, she sees how wrong it was: to be pushed into giving up her life as if it would mean she would no longer ache to live it, as if that could ever be possible. Now, she is learning how to choose herself. Sometimes when you’ve suffered a whole lot, it’s hard to stop, but she’s trying. She takes a sip of her tea, savoring the sweetness on her tongue.
“What about God?”
“What about Him?” Beatrice answers, trying to sound sure of herself. “I'm– I'm fairly confident that He still loves me.”
(Or, post-canon Beatrice, learning how to love herself while she waits for Ava to come back.)

Summary
Thank God for her sneakers or else this would have looked more like she was pulling a dead body. Oh fuck. Did it look like she was carrying a dead body? Her pace increased out of pure fear. This literally could not be happening right now. She was done for. Ava’s fans would kill her. They wouldn’t even question her. They would tear her apart limb from limb in some sadistic medieval torture session while chanting along to one of their idol’s songs.

Summary
The wolf was a curse, a disease, a mark of something in her soul that looked like leprosy. It was the dying gift of a demon that Beatrice had received by accident. If she could have peeled herself open, she would have gotten rid of it. She couldn't. It was too valuable for the OCS to lose.
Ava did not care what the OCS valued or didn't value. When Ava peeled her open, she wanted everything she saw.
