Summary
Alec Hardy has more going on underneath the surface of his scowling, wind-beaten face. Always more. Always there. Ever since he came to Broadchurch, he's been having strange dreams (well, stranger than usual), and they all seem to feature one certain D.S. Will he take up the courage to have something real? Maybe. But for now, he's too busy trying to figure out what it all means.
----o----o----o----o----o----o----o----|
Pairing category is "other" due to this fic still being in the works. Maybe they won't get together, maybe they will ;)
Title is from Sunshine on Leith by the Proclaimers, because I listen to them. The lyrics are relevant to Alec as well. -

Summary
Sitting in a seat that was so soft made his mouth go slack with exhaustion. It was all he could do to keep his eyes open and stare blearily at the smudged lights outside the window as Ellie drove. He asked himself why he even needed to look out on these miserable sights and why he couldn't just turn his mind inward and rest. He'd seen them a thousand times before. You're not a child, Hardy. Stay awake. Sleeping will hold you fast in its claws. Sleeping will destroy you.
Alec, in an attempt to avoid his nightmares, has been keeping himself awake. Ellie, being a mother and his best friend, is not about to let that slide. Featuring the closeness they SHOULD have had in the series. Set post-s3 in the weeks after.

Summary
The TARDIS needs new parts. The Doctor takes Rose on an errand to get more. The asteroid they travel to, Nine-Minus, is inhabited by a peaceful, remote community of laboratory scientists--humans, flung far from home and settled peacefully in a new galaxy with their alien neighbours.
Excitement is thick in the air: they have developed a new breakthrough in agricultural science that could be a game-changer for the other asteroid outposts in their solar system. The pair soon realise that there is something off about this whole situation. Alien meddling might be afoot. Will Rose and the Doctor get to the core of this rotten apple, or has it already taken root in the minds of too many?
(I will update this if more people leave kudos, because it doesn't take priority for me right now.)

Summary
While half (slightly more than half) of his citizens are quite happy with their decision to stay in the United Kingdom, Scotland himself was not one of them. It really isn't the vote's fault- he's been depressed for years beforehand. It might give him a tiny nudge over the edge, though. Good thing Ireland is there to pull him back.
Or, Scotland attempts suicide. Ireland saves him. Their POVs flip-flop throughout the story, but it's mostly Alba.
(I was called into the school counselor's office because they found this story in my online documents. What can I say? I liked to work on it during school, and besides, she really loved the story.)

Summary
Claire called him ‘Alec.’
He doesn’t like being called Alec, Ellie thought to herself. She looked over at him, at how he immediately curled in, shoulders hunched, arms brought forward to cross protectively over his chest. She tried to catch his eye, but Hardy resolutely did not look back at her, eyes fixed on Claire.
Something was very wrong. She just couldn’t put her finger on it quite yet.

Summary
How was he back, he knew he had lit the rig up, he could blatantly remember the feeling of heat on his skin before it all went black- it didn’t make sense!
Caz tried to reign in his breathing, swallowing back the lump in his throat as he struggled to breath. How was he back, was he back, was he dead?
Caz pinched himself hard without thinking, yelping pathetically as pain shot through his arm at the action. He definitely wasn’t dreaming then. That meant this was all real that he could never see Suze or his lovely weens ever again, that the girls would grow up without him- that he had truly abandoned them-
Biting back his ensuing panic he got up onto his shaky legs, intent on seeing if he could find anyone else. He had to find someone else.
This doesn’t make sense. The thought kept repeating in his head as slowly made his way towards the deck, the ruined and smashed deck by the looks of it.-
