Summary
Returning to Four Seasons Manor should have felt like coming home. Instead, Zhou Zishu finds dust, decay, and the ghosts of everything he has lost.
Wen Kexing cannot heal the grief carved into Zhou Zishu’s heart by eighty-one fallen disciples and years of absence—but he can mend torn paintings, scrub empty halls clean, cook plum blossom congee, and coax life back into a dying home piece by careful piece. Together with Zhang Chengling, he quietly rebuilds the manor around Zhou Zishu, hoping that if the halls look whole again, perhaps A-Xu might begin to feel whole again too.
But while Zhou Zishu mourns his past and fears the loss of his senses, Wen Kexing carries a quieter terror of his own: sooner or later, Zhou Zishu will learn who he truly is. And then he will have to leave him forever.
