Summary
sláinte [SLAHN-chuh] | origin Irish/Scots Gaelic | noun: a common toast used to wish good health and fortune to one's drinking partner
An angel visited Billy on Christmas Eve to show him how good his life could be. This is what happens next.
“Because. Do I really have to say it?”
“I’m thinking maybe you oughta,” Billy replies.
Steve lifts his chin as he grows more confident in his words. But he never looks over at Billy. “Because we both know if I was a girl, you’d be trying to get into my pants by now.”

“Steve,” she says again, with more urgency, and now he’s sure it’s Max. “I need your help.”
Steve’s pulse goes into overdrive. “Max, what’s wrong? I can get Hopper- ”
“No!” she cuts him off, talking fast. “No cops. There’s no time and, and…it’s so cold out there and—and there’s just no time okay? You have to trust me. Please. You know the road I live on? I need you to come here now, but DO NOT stop at the house, just keep driving past it, but come as fast as you can and…” she hesitates “And—you’ll know when you see. You’ll understand.”

Summary
"Danny doesn’t know why he hasn’t left, but it’s like his feet have grown roots and he can’t move; he has no idea how long he stares before Cath languidly turns her head and finally sees him. She startles and starts to yell, but cuts it off quickly with a hand to her mouth when she recognizes that it is Danny standing in the doorway. Steve’s head whips to the side as he registers her reaction, and when he spots his partner, his eyes go wide as he moves to sit up and pull the sheet over his visible corruption."

Summary
Pulling the signet ring from his own finger and pressing it into Dunk’s slack hand, then turning to face his brother and nephews, Baelor’s voice rang a challenge across the room. “I have made my choice. Ser Duncan the Tall is my man, and we will be handfasted as soon as the gods allow. Will you withdraw your grievance, Aerion, or will you meet me in a trial by combat on the tournament field for all to watch?"
Or, to save Dunk from fighting in a Trial of Seven, and to save himself from the doom in Daeron's dream, Baelor offers to marry Dunk instead.

Summary
"The crown suits you, you know," said Ser Duncan over the cacophony, bringing Baelor back to himself. "Makes you look... you know. Kingly. Which I suppose makes sense, seeing as how you're the king now." A look of anguish crossed his face. "Oh, hells, I shouldn't be calling you 'you,' should I? It's 'Your Grace.' Please don't take—"
Baelor resisted the urge to rest his hand against the lad's back, as one might soothe a skittish horse. "No offense was taken, ser."
"Thank you," Ser Duncan said, then immediately amended, "thank Your Grace...ness. Seven fucks, I'm getting another drink." And he whirled away into the throng before Baelor could say a word.

Summary
The stairwell is chilly and quiet. Neither speaks and Dunk’s heart pounds in his ears. He wonders if Lyonel can hear it, echoing off the cold, dark stone. Up and up they go, higher into the tower. and Dunk wonders if they’re going to the roof so Lyonel can throw him off into the sea. He wonders if it would hurt to hit the waves, or if he would die on impact. Were I a bird or a fish, this would not be a problem, as I would just fly or swim away. Were Egg a dragon, he would catch me.

Summary
He could test it. See whether Lyonel would look.
Scars always drew eyes, but there were other places fewer men dared glance. Pushing up, Dunk rose with as much dignity as a naked man in a too-small tub could manage. He grabbed the crumpled towel, started drying himself—and flicked a glance sideways.
Seven hells.
Lyonel was looking.
———
Or, Dunk does actually visit Storm's End a year after Ashford. Lord Lyonel immediately surrounds him with hospitality that he's utterly unprepared for.
