Summary
"What's your name?"
"Legundo." Legundo immediately brought up his hand for the other to shake before realizing how stupidly formal it would be and tucked it behind his back. A strange look passed over the other man's eyes that he couldn't decipher.
"You can call me Doc, then."
"Doc?" Legundo's face scrunched up. "That's a profession. Not a name."
"It's a name." Doc confirmed. "Even if it wasn't, you wouldn't know what else to call me."
"...Alright. You're Doc. Do you know why we're here?"

Summary
He hears their voices, he hears them calling to him, he hears them begging and demanding and crying and dying and—
He yanks the handle again, and this time he thinks that fire has begun hitting his back with mercy now. The burn draws him away from the screams, and all that remains is the constant lingering feeling of smoke and flame in his lungs.
He shudders, and his body adjusts. It's all he did, really, adapt. He was good at surviving where he shouldn't have, and good at failing to die where he should have.
He runs his hands over the scars on his arms, and he remembers the hands clawing at his skin. They begged and begged, and each time he failed. The water was burning, and he knew he needed to be careful. He cranked the volume up to the max that it could be, and the fire spreading across his back was instant.

Summary
“Maybe some things just shouldn’t be talked about,” Avid grits out from between clenched teeth, shooting a glance at Legundo that is obviously meaningful. Unfortunately, Legundo has no idea what that meaning is.
Scott raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Really? I have no reason not to, though.”
“You can’t!” Avid hisses, taking a step forward.
Scott goes still, and Avid freezes a moment later, eyes widening. The elder vampire slowly steps forward, pinning Avid under the full force of his red gaze. For all of the warm color in them, his eyes are ice cold.
“What did you say?” He says softly.
