When Jason woke up buried under rubble, he already knew it was going to be a bad day. And with the hole in his stomach, bullet wounds in his chest, and concrete slabs pinning his legs down, he bitterly accepted his fate.
He always knew he was on borrowed time and just like last time, he was going to die alone.
There was a time when someone would’ve tried to save him. There was a time when he was loved.
But he burned those bridges a long time ago and now, there was no one around to care that he was taking his last breath.
After all, he used up all of Robin’s magic the first time and there were no more miracles left for him.

Jason squeezes his eyes shut, lets out a breath, and looks away. It’s not real, he repeats to himself. It’s Fear Toxin. It's Crane. It’s something that could’ve happened but didn’t. It's not real, it’s not real, it’s not real.

Summary
Losing Damian not only hurt beyond measure but also made Dick the last Bat standing. He had nothing keeping him in a broken world so goes back in time with only one ally (Damian begs to differ) and no plan except to protect everyone he can, at any cost.
Dick starts with making sure Jason never dies at the hands of the Joker and proceeds to track down and love his siblings (while maybe also plotting the destruction of the League of Assassins). He just doesn't realize that a clan of highly trained vigilantes are more than capable of realizing that Dick is not okay, and of returning his devotion with their own.

Dick slowly stood and its head jerked to follow the motion. He stepped forward until he was almost chest to chest with it. He knew it was a stupid thing to do—he was unarmored and unarmed, but he felt sure that it wasn't here to hurt him. It didn't flinch away or reach for its weapons when he approached. This close he could see that it was trembling. He reached up, telegraphing his movements, and gently gripped the hood's fabric. He paused, giving plenty of time for the Talon to pull away, but it didn't.
He lifted the hood.

The situation was easy to understand. Red Hood was Jason Tood, returned from the grave. Jason Todd couldn't come home because Joker was alive and Tim Drake was Robin so... if Tim Drake killed Joker then that would leave Robin open for Jason to come home and claim right? Now if only the Joker would actually die in all the death traps Tim had set up.
