Summary
Macaque is killed by a possessed Wukong during the battle against the Lady Bone Demon. He wakes up in a world and time not his own, with a Wukong who has never met a Macaque. Now stuck in this different universe, Macaque has to navigate his way through all the strange differences and a Wukong who is far too fascinated with not being the only one of his kind.
Or-
I chew up then spit out LMK Macaque into the actual JTTW world. Not back in time before Wukong killed him but in the actual novel (sorta). Won’t be entirely accurate to JTTW but I wanted a fic where the LMK characters interact with their JTTW counterparts for a long time now.

Wukong had sensed a gradual change in Macaque’s scent, an alluring sweetness that overwhelmed him. It was something he couldn’t quite articulate, and the new intensity of this feeling felt like a heavy burden. He tried to keep their interactions close and casual, while seeking more of that elusive scent, but doing so without drawing Macaque’s attention was proving to be quite difficult.
