But one day apart stretched into two, into three, into a week, and suddenly Shane was on the other end of the phone, saying, ”Maybe this isn’t going to work, Ilya.”
At least Ilya is good at that part; he’s an expert in being left behind.

Moriarty has come up with a plan to discredit him, and it works perfectly: everyone believes that Sherlock wanted to have sex with Moriarty, and it's turned his life upside down. He doesn't fully understand what happened, and Moriarty is still out there - and he's making promises to come back.
But now that John, Lestrade and Mycroft have found out the truth, they're going to do everything they can to protect Sherlock and give Moriarty what he deserves. The real question is whether or not they can ever make it up to Sherlock.

Buck's vision tunneled. His body moved without permission, autopilot taking over where conscious thought had fled. Up the stairs. Stumbling, nearly falling. His hands grabbed his comforter, sheets still tangled from this morning, a lifetime ago, and yanked them off the bed.
Down the stairs. Each step a monumental effort. His legs barely worked.

After the tourney at Ashford, Maekar sends Egg to Dragonstone, hoping he won't cause anymore mischief under the supervision of his uncle Baelor. He should have known his son better than that, he just didn't expect the boy to become the first Dragonrider in almost 80 years.

Their last game, at home in Ottawa, had been unremarkable. Cold and awkward for the most part, but nothing noteworthy. Tonight had been the same so far.

One shot on goal was blocked and the follow-up smothered. Play came to a halt and, as the skaters turned to reset, the crowd fell silent. Ilya was still down. The hit was a bit awkward, but still so normal, so routine, that no one expected an injury. Even Shane hadn’t felt the need to watch his husband and make sure he was okay.
