Summary
Rosemary is a typical post fall-of-the-accord girl. She is happy in the Compact, and has found that integrating with the Affini and their florets rather easy. As long as you aren't weird around the Affini, they wouldn't be tempted to domesticate you.
Mint is a typical feralist-turned-floret, and is enjoying her new life as a pet and as property for a four meter tall plant alien that she madly loves.
One day, a tasty beverage pulls the two sophonts together, and they bond over their shared history in the Cosmic Navy and become fast friends.
However, there are issues boiling just under the surface threatening to burst out!
Can Rosemary navigate a quickly strengthening relationship with a floret while maintaining her independence?
No.
The answer is no. The Affini are inevitable. Rosie doesn't stand a chance.
But hopefully the journey will be fun!

Story based on a dream I had quite a while ago, TW for mentions of self-harm, suicide attempts, and severe depression. If you like angst, forceful care, and a total loss of agency, this story just might be for you.
