Bruce shook his head, looking amused, “He's already very skittish. He would have been capable of throwing himself off a moving train to avoid getting caught."

It was meant to be a simple, quiet patrol. In and out. Knock a few heads together, take advantage of Bruce and Alfred being out of town to swear as loudly as possible, and throw some unnecessary punches to let off steam. The ideal night.
Instead, Jason is sitting in a cold chair at five in the morning, listening to a heart monitor and trying to remember how to breathe. Because Dick is a self-sacrificing idiot, and Jason’s entire world is currently narrowing down to the jagged space between a pulse and a flatline.
Jason doesn’t do "feelings." But it turns out, when the only person tethering you to the living starts to slip away, you don’t really have a choice.
