    Humility? Is that what this was truly about? Izuku wasn’t so sure. In his mind, this felt more like a way to weed out the students that, like Endeavor, had come here looking for power and glory. A few months ago, Izuku might have thought Katsuki was one of those people. Now, he wasn’t sure what this quirk would reveal.

    “I’ll tell you what boy. My quirk forces traumatic flashbacks so I can experience your feelings and gain energy from all the negative emotions. If you agree not to fight me off, I’ll agree not to touch any of your other friends here…” a brief pause. “In fact. To really sweeten the deal. Manage to move me to tears and I’ll let you all go… What do you say?”

    Shouto is conflicted. On one hand, reliving his childhood while this villain watches is not something he thinks he can survive emotionally. But… if he agrees, he can save his friends. Spare them pain. Repay them for the gift that every day of their friendship has been.

    Mind made up, Shouto opens his eyes and freezes.

    Because the villain isn’t even looking at him.
