Joonghyuk forces his lips to part and speak. “Kim Dokja,” he rasps, sounding out the shape of his companion’s voice, savouring it one last time. The other leans in closer, to better hear what he has to say. It takes all that’s left of him to grit out,
“I'm dying.”
A gentle, scarred palm presses against his forehead, cooling his sore temples immediately, and Dokja laughs. You fool, Joonghyuk wants to say. This is not a joke.
“Joonghyuk-ah,” Dokja says, mirth and fondness laced between the syllables. “Have you never gotten a fever before?”

A gradually reddening, embarrassed preschooler, who doesn’t know how to find the right words. “It feels like something’s missing when you’re not there.”

Summary
Amidst their scenarios, Kim Dokja carries out the splendid idea of abusing his Demon King transformation powers to stay awake for over a week so he can endlessly plan ahead and make sure everything goes swimmingly. Everything, however, does not go swimmingly when Han Sooyoung catches on and asks him to turn back into his normal form. He promptly passes out, to the dismay (but not the surprise) of everyone.
