Part is written in the close third person about her mother, Dunna."Folk are starting to believe the false tale that Saruman created the Uruk-hai from dung and stone through his evil magics. The story rings true because they appeared so suddenly at the end of the Third Age. Have you heard that story?"

El just wants to live her life, occasionally kill some maw-mouths, and help set up golden enclaves. Ideally, while spending time with her friends and enjoying freedom from the Scholomance. That's not too much to ask, right? But the world, the maw-mouths, and her magic have different plans for her. Because, of course they do.
This picks up after the trilogy ends and explores El, Aadhya, Liu, and Liesel’s journey fighting maw-mouths, keeping El's powers a secret, and other magical escapades. Plus snark. Lots and lots of snark.
