To the third time they met for a warning that led to a confrontation an advice that friendship will only lead you to your own grave, making you weaker for caring about others.
Wemmbu however disagrees and decided to prove Shoebilly wrong because the best way to defeat an Enemy is to befriend them is what he heard Rejoice said once.
And since whatever habit he has unknowingly befriended a bird who was in denial of having friends named Shoebilly.

"Ranboo," He murmured, fingers gripping onto a gloved hand. "I'm gonna have a nap. You'll wake me in an hour, right, big man? Set my alarm for me, the one- the one that screeches, yeah?"
There wasn't an outright response, just the hum of a drifting spaceship and the croak of a ventilator, but Tommy knew that Ranboo was listening. He always was.
