Monster. Mu Qing snorts, rolling his eyes at himself. He's been called many words. Called many insults and slurs, and words so unfathomable he doesn't bother remembering. Monster was always one of those. Always there, always in their eyes and mind if not their mouth. It's the most common insult for vampires that he hears every time he visits a human dominated place.
So, as he puts his book down and pulls the man by the leash attached to his collar, forcing him to lay down on the bed as he hovers above him with a sinister smile upon seeing the flash of fear in those eyes – he leans down toward his ear to whisper.
"I know."

He whispered the word astounding to the ceiling, and the ceiling said nothing back.
He wished he could make the word sound the same as it had when Zuko had said it.

He felt like a middle school girl with a crush.
Fuck it. May as well lean into the character. Sokka flipped onto his stomach, kicked his feet up, and screamed into a pillow.
Sokka pulled his head out of the pillow, opened his phone, and Merriam-Webstered astounding. He knew what it meant, but he needed to inject it into his very bloodstream. He had to get linguistic with that shit.

Zuko had the scrawny prison guard over and on his back in an instant. His fist curled above his head, igniting itself in flames as he landed on top of him, lips pulled back in a scowl. "Not this time, you piece of shit."
"Whoa, wait wait wait wait! Stop! It's me!" The guard heaved. Dark tan hands peeled off the helmet. Beneath it was an impossible face; one that he remembered had nestled against his arm ten months ago. Zuko's breath sucked in, fast and dry.
"Yeah," Sokka huffed, a soft smile slowly curling onto his lips as Zuko's fire died in shock. "You're okay now. It's just me."

Where Zuko is banished without Iroh or the task of searching for the Avatar for his honor, gets himself a bounty on his head, and has to be saved from Boiling Rock Prison by an annoying Southern Water Tribe warrior that makes him feel really weird.

Summary
Reincarnation is a tricky thing, especially when you've completely forgotten who you are. It could be as much a blessing as a curse. For Mu Qing, who had a steady income, a sort of nice apartment and yes, an actual long-term relationship with his enemy-turned-friend-turned-something more, suddenly being visited in his dreams by his 'past self' who also happened to be a God was more like a curse. No, definitely a curse!
Then, as if it couldn't get any worse, the God starts bothering him in his waking hours too. Even worse, he came prepared with a plan: 1. Cultivate himself an immortal body. 2. Ascend to the Heavenly Realm as a God. 3. Get rid of Feng Xin for good.
"Over. My. Dead. Body. You're not killing my boyfriend."
And when said boyfriend gets a visit from his godly counterpart... their apartment isn't big enough to contain all those pent up emotions, centuries of rivalry and resentment and wait, hold up... are those hidden desires?
