"What?"
“Marry me.” He says it again, the words sliding off his tongue even easier a second time. Not a question now, a statement. It really makes the most sense doesn't it? They're already in love, already a family. They don't need dinner dates & new couple things. They just need each other. “Let go of the loft, move in permanently, & marry me.”"

Summary
When he ambles back to the living room it’s with the easy, rolling cadence of someone just on the right side of drunk, and he plops back down on his couch with a small, satisfied sigh. Buck makes a surprised little sound–-Eddie’s misjudged the distance between them, half-landing on the knee that Buck’s got folded up beneath him. “Hey,” he mumbles, as Eddie shifts. There’s a loose, dopey smile playing on his lips. “Watch it, man. Got precious cargo over here.”
Eddie snorts. “Thought you weren’t on blood thinners anymore.”
“Was talking about the drink,” Buck replies, as Eddie’s eyes belatedly drift over to the glass that’s dangling in his hand. He grins and tips his head. “Good to know you think I’m precious, though.”

Summary
For a sickening, devastating second, Eddie thinks Buck is going to turn his back on him and rush to Tommy.
But then Buck’s expression crumples into something so sad that Eddie would do just about anything to get rid of it - to change it into the sunshine smile he’s so accustomed to. And then Buck is hurrying towards him, arms outstretched so he can take Eddie’s bruised and bleeding hand into his own.
“What the hell happened?” Buck asks, frantic. “Are you okay?”
Tommy scoffs. “He punched me,” he yells, straining against Chim and Ravi’s hold.

Summary
Eddie’s mouth opens, and closes and then opens again, his brain still short circuiting. Buck steps closer. “Ask me why I broke up with Tommy.” Eddie feels his lip curl at the name alone, and though he’s quick to straighten his expression, it clearly doesn’t go unnoticed. Buck huffs a laugh, stepping closer again. “God, you really didn’t like him.”
