Summary
Hyde isn't exactly sure just how he ended up in a smelly ice shack staring at a notebook paper with his name written on it in Jackie's curly handwriting, but he does know that today is going to change things between them.
Or: Hyde goes to the ice shack.

Summary
Set in 1980, just after the finale of That '70s Show, this story follows Jackie Burkhart and Steven Hyde in the uneasy weeks after everything between them quietly implodes.
Jackie is doing what she does best: performing composure, success, and distance so well that even her closest friends almost believe she’s fine. Steven is doing what he does best: hiding behind Zen detachment, pretending that silence is the same thing as moving on. They still orbit the same people—Eric freshly home, Donna watching more than she says, and their shared role as godparents to baby Betsy—but they no longer know how to exist in the same emotional space.
When avoidance stops working, an act of revenge leads to conversations that circle the truth without touching it. Both of them are broken in familiar ways—afraid of vulnerability, afraid of being hurt again—and both are exhausted from pretending they don’t still feel the pull. It’s about two people who have learned pain as a language and are struggling to unlearn it. And if choosing each other, honestly and carefully, might be less destructive than continuing to pretend they don’t care at all.
