John only hesitated for another second, his face turning red and obviously mortified, before he seemed to hunch in on himself and scurry towards the door.
He let himself out without another word, leaving Ghost in blissful silence again – finally.

He can feel IV watching him. Patient. Deferring to him to keep the conversation going. Painfully considerate in not trying to push him. II stares at the ashen end of his cigarette. “I just wanted to sit with her. Like. Let her be the one in control for a bit. I wanted to let go for a sec. And she’s…good at helping me with that.”
So II takes another measured drag of his cigarette. On his exhale, smoke gathers around his nose and mouth. He scratches the bridge of his nose. “With her, though…it’s different, I guess. I wouldn’t be opposed to her, like…being in control. Of me. More often.”
