Cassidy Quinn joined the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit in 2002 after leaving her hometown of Honolulu behind and moving to the East Coast. Cassie found herself needing a change, and as someone with a past like hers, becoming a profiler at the BAU and hunting down some of the worst criminals that humanity has to offer gave her both a respite and a purpose.
But, after being partnered with former Chicago cop/ATF agent Derek Morgan since the very first day she joined the unit, Agent Quinn wonders if she might've bitten off more than she can chew. The Bureau frowns upon inter-team relationships, and Cassie has worked too hard to get where she is today to let a man unknowingly threaten her career.
Her heart is not as stubborn as her brain, though, and that, in and of itself, is the entire problem.

“Seems special to me.” He stared at her. They were close, lying on his jacket. Stella had taken off her shoes.
She was the first one to break eye contact. It was getting pretty intense, and she could almost hear her heart pounding in her chest. She turned her eyes to the sky and stayed silent, listening to his breath, to the breeze, to her own heart.
Brandon looked at her for a moment longer, then he put an arm behind his head and looked up at the stars.Series
