Summary
Buck "suddenly" shifts into a not-wolf-not-dog on Christmas Eve of 2010. Unattached to a pack and unable to function in not-wolf culture, he struggles to make a home for himself until he gets to the 118. When his position is almost threatened by the new probie being a not-wolf, Buck nearly quits, but manages to make it work, as Eddie and other not-wolves politely ignore that Buck is a not-wolf and not a regular person. This goes well, until Buck realizes that he's interested in the not-wolf who helped the 118 save their captain and his wife.

Ravi's eyes flutter closed again, but he didn't tell him to go away, so Buck keeps talking. "I, uh, went viral."
That does the trick, Ravi's eyes opening again, this time sparkling with curiosity. "Viral?"
Buck hums. "On Reddit. I made a fake account and uh…" His hand comes up to scratch at his neck, that humiliation making a hasty return. It's not his finest moment. He winces, blurting his crime out. "Posted on relationship advice."
Ravi's mouth drops open, and he sits up, his precious sleep long forgotten. "About Tommy?"
"Yeah," Buck confirms grimly. "The last time I checked, there were almost fifteen hundred comments."
