Summary
A lullaby slips from Aang’s lips in the middle of the night, meant only to soothe his newborn son.
The melody is right. The rhythm is right.
But something feels… off — familiar, yet distant.
It isn’t until he repeats the words that he realizes what he’s truly remembering.
Not the song.
The language.
Air Nomad.
The first words he’s spoken in Air Nomad in a century…
sung to his beautiful, beautiful boy.Bookmarked by Iridesc

Summary
“You did it!” he cheered, clapping his hands.
She looked momentarily stunned. “I did? I did, right? It looked better this time!”
“Definitely! You should try it again! The more you practice, the better it can get.”
Instead of trying the water whip again, Katara dropped the water she was levitating to encircle Aang in a hug. “Thanks, Aang.”
---
Five times Aang compartmentalized his own problems to help one of his friends and one time they helped him.
There is literally no better summary for this. (Probably.)

Summary
Fire creeping forward
Wind begins to turn
The world yet is frozen
While the world burnsAang was learning that quite a lot of things in the world weren’t as they should be. He should have been told he was the avatar when he was sixteen. He should be allowed to play with the other kids. He should be traveling with Monk Gyatso, like they’d planned before getting stuck here.
It should be fair.
It wasn’t.

Summary
He doesn’t want to resent it— doesn’t want any of this anger and hatred and grief— this resentment for pain bubbling up inside him with no path out. He’s supposed to be a monk, a pacifist, a mediator— the Avatar. He shouldn’t scorn everything for his people— his people, who are never coming back. Whose entire culture rides on the back of his own memories and the fact that he has to be less than himself in order to live up to the expectations of what an air nomad is, what the Avatar is supposed to be.
