A whole 31 day's worth of spirk! You are now looking at the collection of my ficlets written for Spirktober 2022. They existed on twitter first and now they're here! Every fic is a standalone snapshot of the romance that conquered the stars themselves. Some are set in the universe of The Original Series, and some are set in the Alternate Original Series. Some are humorous, some are angsty, all of them are full of Spock and Kirk. Much like Star Trek itself, I hope the hopeful, kitschy optimism shines through even in the darker explorations.

Summary
When Pon Farr hits, Spock knows he must conceal himself in his quarters or risk his violent sex-fiend behavior ruining his career. While trying to check up on his friend, Jim is shocked that a hormone fueled Spock actually bites him.
He tries to conceal it and hopes it heals on its own. But what neither of them knows is that the Vulcan bite during Pon Farr can give the victim the exact hormones and symptoms of Plak Tow.
Only one thing can resolve their mutual fever.

Summary
Within the inimitable Spirk fic Ten Degrees Below Zero by Kianspo, Jim has to go through an offscreen "ethics seminar" assigned to him by Captain Pike. He must endure Spock dying gruesome deaths via simulation to prove their emotional compromise will not detract from his captaining abilities. The last simulation leaves Jim totally wrecked, and his defeated whisper to Spock of "I passed" absolutely destroyed me.
Ever since I finished the fic, I haven't been able to stop wondering—why was that last simulation even worse than the ones that came before? What finally let Jim "pass" this test? So, this fic is my answer to those questions. And my excuse to put Jim through the angst of watching Spock continually die.

“It’s really no big deal,” Jim says as the door slides closed behind them. “I just need you to come down to Hearth with us…as my husband.”
The Enterprise has been sent to negotiate reaccession to the Federation with an isolationist religious group known as the Kindred. While there, Jim notices that some of the children seem to be gravely ill. The problem is, the Kindred practice faith healing and refuse to allow a doctor to be brought in. So Jim does what he does best: he improvises.

It's late at night on Coruscant, midway through the Clone Wars. Obi-Wan is not at the Temple, not on his ship, and not answering his coms. Cody is at a loss, and so Anakin is dispatched to find him—despite his resentment at Obi-Wan's deception during the recent Hardeen mission. He finds Obi-Wan in a bar on the lower levels, and he's a little drunk, very depressed, and altogether confused by Anakin's presence. After all, Anakin had just moved out of their shared apartment. Why would he be seeking Obi-Wan out?
Or, the boys finally communicate, and realize a few things about how their relationship has changed during the war.
