Rafael looked down at the kitten still squirming in his arms. “Do you remember every kitten that comes through your practice?” he asked mildly before depositing the kitten on the exam table.
“No, but I just did a round of vaccines on Tom Seaver last week.”
Rafael’s expression darkened. “Of course he named the damned cat Tom Seaver,” he seethed, tossing a baleful expression at the kitten before switching it to me. “Do you know who Tom Seaver is?”
“Best player the Mets have ever seen,” I answered promptly, less because I was much of a baseball fan myself and more because I had already heard this from Sonny when he brought the kitten in initially.
Rafael scowled. “I’m a Yankees fan,” he told me dryly. “Not that I care much about baseball but Son— Det. Carisi does love to torture me.”

Tim Drake always knew his time as a Bat was going to be short-lived. All the Wayne brothers had made it clear how unwelcome he was. And Tim had enough self-respect to leave where he wasn't wanted. Besides, if he stayed, he was eventually going to be killed by one of them. So after he completed his mission as Red Robin by rescuing Bruce from the time stream, he left Gotham behind.
But when an old ally calls in a favor, he returns to the city he once called his home. While running into the Bats was necessary for mission success, being forced to spend time with his former teammates is not. And yet the more Tim does, the more he realizes they've changed. It seems as though they regretted their actions and want him back in the family.
And now they have him back in their grasp, they won't let him go again - no matter what.
