Doesn't it seem odd, that while their brotherhood crumbled, Kaeya stayed strong with his loyalty to Mond, while Diluc was the one who left everything behind?
Anyway, yeah, it's fucking weird.
So, let's twist the story around a little. Both of the brothers deserved to escape from that tragedy for a while, not only one of them :)---

Part 1: A writing experiment, featuring Diluc coming from a war-ridden future, back into the past. Literally messy writing.
Part 2: A little snippet of how the future Diluc got his braids.
Part 3: Knowing where the abyssal-soliders are made, the trio races against time to sabotage it.
Info: I personally think that the two main evil forces in the game could eventually merge.
So! An Abyss-Fatui alliance, led by the Queen (Lumine in this case) and the Tsaritsa start a war on Tevat!
Randomly decided to send Diluc back in time with a time-travel spell to 'prevent' the war, revealing some past and future ideas at once.- Words:

He asks, tilting his head slightly.
"I don’t feel like drinking right now."
Akechi hums, resting a hand under his chin for a few seconds before pushing the glass toward him carefully enough not to spill the contents, looking at him with a sly smile.
"Try mine."
Akira looks at the drink and then at Akechi, and the latter feels the need to clarify: "I think you’d like it."
Akira nods, taking the glass. He holds the straw steady with one finger so it doesn’t smack him in the nose and takes a sip.. then sets the glass back down, sliding it toward its owner again.
"You were right."

Maruki holds the world in the palm of his hand and Akira's struggling to recognize what's right and what's wrong. Things can't get any worse, but at least he has his little refuge: the thieves den. How long before that stops feeling safe?

From beneath the wide straw hat, the boatman saw the man's red hair slightly flutter in the cold wind, obscuring the faint expression on his face and the thin lips that were forming words dripping with sarcasm, aimed at himself, "Then what do you think a Fallen God would should still be surprised by?"
