Summary
“Dean, man you should tell him,” Sam was saying.
“Sam, I mean it. Drop it.” Dean’s voice was hard.
“Dean, he has a point. It’s been a year now, it wouldn’t be you pushing him, or Cas jumping into anything!” Charlie was arguing back.
Dean’s voice snapped, sounding anguished and Cas felt his body grow cold. “And what the fuck am I supposed to say? ‘Hey Cas, sorry the one you really wanted to be with, the only person I’ve ever seen you love, was actually a giant fucking douche bag, but I’ve been in love with you since we were sixteen if you wanted a second option.’”
Cas felt the breath punch out of him and he barely held back his soft gasp. Blood rushed in his ears and he damn near dropped the beer bottle in his hand, barely grasping it with a white knuckled grip.
I’ve been in love with you since we were sixteen.
Holy fuck. Holy fuck.
--Or, Dean and Cas have been in love for a decade, but are idiots and didn't realize it, because of course they didn't.

Summary
It’s not that Dean wants to be unmated.
Dean does want to be caught, someday. He wants his own mark, his own pups, he wants to smell their unpresented scents mixed in with the smell of mate and home, he wants to build his nest big enough they can all curl together — shifted or not — to know without a doubt that he is loved and wanted.
Dean wants.
Dean also needs to get his fucking shit together.
He shakes his head, trying to dispel the melancholy that has been getting worse the last year, ever since he participated in a particular chase in Kansas, when he had gone to visit the Novak pack. It had been the one and only time Dean had caught a scent that made him almost trip, something salty and dark that he hasn't forgotten even a year later. And he hasn’t caught even a hint of it again, hadn’t even got more than a fleeting taste that day either.
Man, since then Dean has been feeling his unmarked flesh more and more acutely. But he still runs, because he likes it. And he does hope that someday something changes.

Summary
The bunker is too quiet, and Dean Winchester is crawling out of his skin. Six miles on the treadmill, a bruised set of knuckles on the heavy bag, a couple glasses of whiskey, none of it is enough to burn off the static in his head or the way his body won’t settle.
Then Cas walks into the gym barefoot, rolls his sleeves up, and offers Dean a simple solution:
“You need to hit something. I can take it.”
What starts as late night “training” turns into Cas pinning Dean to the mats again and again, calm and steady while Dean’s body betrays him in every possible way. Avoidance doesn’t help. Whiskey doesn’t help. Showers definitely don’t help.
Cas noticing absolutely everything, and very quietly wanting it too?
Yeah.
That might actually do the trick.Sparring, yielding, and learning there are much better ways to work off tension than running in circles.
