Summary
This AU explores how the Tianhuo catastrophe could have turned out differently if GMing the Fusang gene out of solarians was seriously considered as a solution to the crisis. With a method to purge Tianhuo from the solarians' DNA discovered, but Penglai irreversibly covered in infectious flowers, Yi's goal is to evacuate the solarians to the Pale Blue Planet and form an alliance with two roughly 15th century human societies of my own creation. It will be told primarily from the perspective of Heng, Yi, and a human OC of mine. It will also feature some altered Origin and Foundation Era lore. Good things will happen! But the horrors will persist :3

When the truth of Tianhuo is revealed to Yi, he decides to do the smart thing by keeping up appearances. With Kuafu, he wages a protracted battle behind the scenes against Eigong spanning the time before, during, and after the launch of New Kunlun. 507 years into the Foundation Era, Heng wakes up with Yi's rhizomatic stabilizer in her chest. 2 years after that, she finds that her surrogate younger brother, Shuanshuan, has been chosen as an offering to the gods. A series of vignettes detailing Yi's recovery in Peach Blossom Village and the development of his and Shuanshuan's fraternal bond, all of it undercut by Yi slowly coming to terms with the fact he's directly responsible for everything the kid he's grown to love has lost.
In other words: cat man gets taken care of by child and then proceeds to have a mental breakdown when he realises he practiced eugenics
