Summary
Frank Langdon has been struggling with his family life, work life, and sobriety since he returned to PTMC. Someone from his past shows up at PTMC leading him to spiral into depression and desperation. Robby, still struggling with his own mental health after his sabbatical, decides to intervene.
This is gonna be a very slow burn and there's a fair bit of plot before they get together. Gotta put Frank through the wringer first.
This will flip between Langdon and Robby's points of view.
Rating may change when things progress between Robby and Langdon. Though it won't happen quickly.Bookmarked by Hydrary

Summary
“A lot of really good people struggle with addiction.”
٠࣪⭑
“What ifs” were marvelous little thieves—experts at sneaking in after dark, picking the locks of sleep, and making off with sanity as a bonus prize. Frank Langdon, their most recent victim, had grown quite tired of nightly staring contests with his ceiling, all while rehearsing increasingly inadequate apologies to Robby. The universe flipped a coin in his favour: a call requesting his early return to brace for the Fourth of July rush.
Frank, of course, agreed.
Robby? Not so much. Having slipped into escape mode already, dodging neatly into a three-month sabbatical and putting off the long-avoided conversation for just a little while longer.
Which raises the question: what if Frank decided that “later” wasn’t good enough?

Summary
It was a sort of open secret between the older members of staff at the Pitt. Something never acknowledged, but definitely remembered. The memories of an eager med student and an up-and-coming doctor on his path to being an attending. The spark between the two, as they poured over a case together. The touches, the looks. Until it was quickly cut short.
─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───
OR Frank Langdon got pregnant during his med student years, and instead of telling the Robby he was going to be a father, he gave up the baby in hopes that she would live a better life. But their daughter, Trinity, shows up at the Pitt as a resident... and ruins his life all over again...

Summary
When Frank gets sick in the middle of the ER and lets something deeply personal slip in the most idiotic way possible, he had no way of knowing how much it would not over take over his life even more then it already had but also the lives of the Pitt's two senior attendings, who in no way are having multiple heart attacks ever since.

Summary
Frank grips the sides of the sink and forces himself to look in the mirror. The damage is minimal- especially when compared to what his scrub top is hiding. There’s a long cut on his brow from where the broken bottle had rebounded off the wall and caught him in the face. And a swollen purple bruise under his jaw. On their own the injuries would’ve been easy to explain; he could think of a hundred stories off the top of his head to explain them. But together, paired with the fact that he’s sure to be a little slow today, it’s harder. He’s planning on saying he fell off his bike and systematically avoid any other questions

Summary
Back from his sabbatical, Robby navigates an ED that has learned how to fill in the space he'd left. Particularly, how Frank Langdon had grown into the reliable senior resident that Robby had always expected him to be.
(And maybe that had been part of the problem. Frank may have put Robby on a pedestal for being his attending and mentor, but Robby had done the same thing in pinning his every hope and vision for the future on Frank.)

Summary
Unable to handle, whatever the scene in front of him was, Langdon turned around and fled to the chaos and distraction The Pitt could spew at him. His skin shook. He was seething with the understanding that Whitaker was Robby's new chosen one: his protégé, his golden boy. The last few months back, Langdon hadn't even let himself get past the thought of just having Dr. Robinavitch forgive him to even hope for more and hope that he could be his "best resident" once more. Now, Whitaker had taken his place.
OR Frank Langdon is sober and adjusting to the fact that his mentor Dr. Robinavitch hates him. He tries everything he can to be a better man and try to woo Dr. Robby back into letting Langdon into his good graces. Jealousy and misunderstandings get in the way of their reconciliation.

Summary
He told Mikey he wouldn't touch another pill for as long as he lived, something he's sure the guy has heard from every passing person who's entered inpatient, sat in those hard unforgiving metal chairs. They probably stopped keeping a tally of how many showed back up again with the same solemn promise as if they forgot they already broke it the first time.
Addiction is a constant fight, where the opponent learns how to lose more than they'll ever win. Relapse expected, it's just how it goes.
Frank just has a devastating reason to be so terribly certain he won't.
In the aftermath of a harsh sober reality, Dr. Frank Langdon returns to The Pitt to face whatever mess he left behind while trying not to fray apart at the seams.
