Annabeth Chase did not generally consider herself a petty person. Sure, Percy might disagree, and she might admit to holding the occasional grudge.
The point is, that curse Ares put on Percy after that fight when he was twelve had almost killed them in Tartarus, and Annabeth was not about to take that lying down. It just wasn’t the type of person she was.
Ares, unlike Hera, did not seem to have any (reasonable) compunctions about using her services as an architect after the wars had (fucking finally) ended.
Or; Annabeth does something petty and Apollo is the first to notice.
