He knew that shadow on the horizon. Recognised the taste, the telltale tang of metallic radiation in the air.
Radiation didn't hurt ghouls, persay, but a man could be too healed. Too... vigorous. It made everything sharper, more overwhelming. Made you angry, sad, but most of all, it made ghouls like him want to fuck.
And the Vaultie? Little Miss Prim and Proper?
Well, an innocent, sheltered virgin like her wasn't going to be interested in helping an old ghoul like him out with the all encompassing, burning, heat-like effects of that radiation... would she?

Reference note - the one with the storm, the mechanic and the shoe shop hideout.
This might be my fave story from Coops POV. He sounds very in cannon and I adore how much he thinks v.s how little he actually says. But even when he says practically nothing Lucy is still reading his body language shes still intuiting the situation amazingly well.
And all her dialogue sounds on point as well.And the storm. The atmosphere! The lighting! The comparison of Coop thinking about what this place was (old shoe store) v.s what it is now...Lucy lit in green and soft lantern light like an old world hollywood starlet photoshoot 🤌 perfection!
Definitely one to remember for writing inspiration in future!
