Summary
Shane snickers, like he’s realized the whole situation is a little ridiculous: his concussion, his hospital bed, his secret fuck buddy calling his parents and making him breathe and talking to him like a fucking T-800.
“Okay, maybe you could sit down, at least?” he suggests.

Summary
Boston, while they usually draft players they know to be aggressive, see Shane Hollander, classically Canadian, composed, and calculating, and realize they have an opportunity. Not to reform their image necessarily, but to put out the narrative of a better influence. No one expects Shane Hollander to snarky, suave, and all together trouble for the league.
Montreal sees Ilya Rozanov for exactly what he is, brutal, talented, and masculine. He’s the leadership the Voyagers need, he’s tough on his teammates, on himself, and he doesn’t take shit from anybody. However, he’s too quiet off the ice, and it’s unsettling. He’s everything and nothing they thought he would be.

Summary
After Shane suffers another miscarriage, Ilya decides he’ll be the one to get pregnant this time to save Shane and their marriage. But to spare his husband more grief, Ilya vows to keep the secret entirely to himself until they clear the fragile thirteen-week milestone.
______
The screen lit up with Dr. Chen’s last text, sent hours ago: Call me when you’re ready. The offer still stands.
Ilya stared at Dr. Chen’s message again, thumb hovering over the keyboard. He could still hear Shane’s voice, raw with grief—What if we’re not meant to be parents?—and the memory alone was enough to make his stomach twist.
Ilya finally found his voice, rough with emotion. “My turn,” he whispered, the words a vow, a confession, and a promise, all in one.
He typed…
Ilya: I’m ready.

Summary
Remember when Hayden Pike punches Ilya after Shane said not to, right before the announcement of the Irina Foundation? Remember that that was the second time Hayden laid his hands on Ilya in the first month of knowing him?
Or, Shane gets rightfully fed up after the first month of Hayden's behavior towards Ilya. Punching Ilya was the final straw, so he tells Hayden to pretend he never found out. It sets off a chain of events landing him, happily, in Ottawa a year earlier and with a better support system for both him and Ilya.

Summary
At twenty-five, Shane works from home in cyber security. He gets all his groceries delivered. He avoids the outside world whenever possible. Finally—finally—he caves to his parents’ insistence that it’s time to purchase an omega.
Ilya is supposed to be difficult. That’s what the auction house warned him, anyway. They aren’t wrong. Between the language barrier, the violent mood swings, incessant noise, and feral behaviors, Ilya is nothing like the obedient omegas Shane is raised to expect. Half the time, Shane can’t tell if the man hates him, fears him, or is losing his damn mind. Probably all of them, all the time. The other half of the time, Ilya watches him like he’s waiting for Shane to spring a trap. News flash: there isn’t one.
Shane doesn't have any inkling of what he’s doing. He’s never shared space with another human being before. Let alone an omega who doesn't understand personal space. As the walls crack between them, Shane notices things he never questioned before. He realizes there is something deeply troubling in the world he grew up in.
