Summary
Thirteen years after the end of the Hundred-Year War, Fire Lord Zuko has rebuilt a nation and survived every enemy bold enough to challenge his rule. But now the opposing factions have found a quieter weapon: Zuko has no wife and no heir.
Toph has problems of her own. Republic City keeps rejecting her plans for a metalbending police force. Her academy depends on her reputation to survive. Her father wants her married, and every suitor wants her tamed.
Then a letter arrives at her doorstep bearing the Fire Lord’s seal.
A fake courtship should solve both their problems. Zuko gets the Fire Council to leave him alone long enough for him to find a proper Fire Lady and make a love-match. Toph gets protection from suitors, leverage for her academy, and perhaps the political backing Republic City keeps denying her. It is practical, temporary, and completely false.

Summary
As awkward as Zuko is, he always tries to be honest with high feelings, especially when it comes to his friends. If there's anything he's always been, it's that he was outward and loud about his wants and feelings- although change and years of friendship mellowed it down to something to quiet but impactful. No longer angry and violent, but something sweet and kind. The awkwardness was there but hey, who will tell Toph how beautiful she is if not him, right?

A series of lighthearted to terribly soul-crushing fictional excerpts depicting Fiona aka Nightfall’s pining for Twilight as she slowly---inevitably witnesses how the man with a hundred faces falls in love with a commoner. (Not necessarily canon reliant but has canon references)
On the side, an indulgent character-study on Nightfall and how she views love, coupled with an occasional (but frequenting) appearance of Yuri Briar—both of which are written the same in canon but in different fonts.
