Summary
In most universes, Hanahaki disease is solely romantic, caused by unrequited or unknown requited love. It causes flowers to bloom and makes their roots latch onto the patient's lungs.

Like most other diseases, it happens in stages. First there is a scratch in the throat, similar to a common cold, then comes a distinct metal taste clinging to the taste buds. Soon, coughing begins leaving specks of blood in the crook of an elbow. Eventually, petals follow the blood, oddly perfect for something so delicate in its position. Then the roots start to dig themselves into the sides of the lungs. This causes discomfort. After this happens, patients can begin to expect full flowers to emerge while coughing and should take care to prevent this final stage. While not entirely fatal, extreme blood loss or the potential of a punctured lung causes some concern to medical professionals. Caution is advis—

He spins the chair around and sits on it, chest pressed on the backrest and his legs sprawling on either side.
“Why you ask?” He speaks. Izuku watches as his navy-blue eyes gaze at him, his jet-dark, wavy hair leaning to one side as he tilts his head. “Because of your quirk, of course. You have an extraordinary healing power, one that you will be using for our purposes.”
Izuku’s world seems to clear slightly upon hearing those words, eyes widening in shock. “My q’irk…”
Healers are rare, and none are more gifted than Izuku Midoriya. Heroes seek him out, eager to make his power a safeguard for society. But villains covet him too, their motives far darker. When faced with such extraordinary talent, they’ll stop at nothing to claim it—that power—no matter how agonizing it may be for him.

Summary
The moment he entered the classroom that morning, Aizawa knew something was very, very wrong.
The one person who isn’t supposed to be here, is somehow sitting right in front of him, a nervous smile plastered onto his face.
Which shouldn’t be possible, Aizawa thinks, because he vividly remembers seeing Izuku fall off of one of the tallest bridges in Japan, just the night before.
The problem isn’t that Midoriya is here, the question is how is he alive?
Or, every time Izuku goes into a depressive spiral he throws himself off of bridges, buildings— any high surfaces really— and lets himself fall knowing that in the end, Float would automatically activate anyways. (No matter how bad he wished it didn’t.)
One of these days, unbeknownst to him, Aizawa witnesses this self-destructive hobby. (And tries his best to pick up the pieces.)

Martin stands. His feet are numb and his knees protest as loud as they can and Martin doesn’t think he’s ever felt so old. But he starts walking, and then he starts running. Not blindly. The fog shifts around him, and Martin knows it. He knows the fog, he was a part of it once — maybe he still is. Maybe he will be forever. But he thinks about Jon, and moves towards where the fog is the thickest. Wherever the Lonely doesn’t want him to go is where he needs to be.
In s5, Jon becomes a temporary victim of Martin's domain. Slight canon divergence in the way an Eye/Lonely domain manifests itself. Hurt/comfort and angst with a happy ending. Parallels to MAG 159 all the way down, babey.
