Summary
Jing Yuan receives a fatal blow, but instead of passing on peacefully to the afterlife, he regains consciousness to find himself transported into the past, before the Quintet had formed.
This second chance he resolves to live without regrets, to prevent the tragedies to come, and to pursue his first loves.
Aka I had Feels about Jing Yuan being…kind of left behind in the past after 1.2. Wrote this to comfort myself.
Note: This is our present day in-game aged Jing Yuan transported into the past. I conveniently made no existing Jing Yuan present in that “alternate universe”.

...apart from if you, like one Sampo Koski, decide to go to a planet so caught up in Qlipoth and Nanook's squabbles that even the Laughter can barely penetrate its shields.
He's starting to regret this decision.

“Very well, then. Whatever is in your means to give, hm? In exchange…” Yinyue-jun lifted his hand, graceful and precise, to gesture right at Jing Yuan. “I want him.”

“There! The mirror!” Divus Crewel says, relief plain in his voice. Mozus Trein looks up from the small mirror in his grip, towards the Dark Mirror all their students had leapt through hours before, its surface rippling with voices coming from as if underwater.
"OH thank goodness! We won't be sued after all-” Dire Crowley sighs, stepping forward only to be pulled back by one of Divus’s hands on his feathered shoulder.
“NO. Wait. Caution first.” The chemist says lowly, drawing his pen from his coat.
“Indeed. They have been traveling the spectral realm for hours and no word. We must expect the worst…” Trein agrees, urging Lucius to his shoulders so he can draw his own pen.
Thank the Seven their caution turned out to be unnecessary.

Summary
Sampo Koski plans to hide out in a hidden shack far out in the cold plains, away from Belobog and the former-client who wants him dead; he doesn’t expect to find the Silvermane Captain, injured and unconscious in the snow, left for dead by some elusive unseen fragmentum creature the Silvermane Guards had been hunting down.
But now Sampo is stuck in the middle of nowhere, trying to keep the both of them alive as a snowstorm keeps them pinned down, all the while wondering why the hell he didn’t even think twice about saving Gepard in the first place.
