“To piss you off, clearly.” Ilya’s voice was dry. “Is it working?”
“Wait. Really?”
Ilya stared at him for a beat. “No, Hollander. I didn’t make the cut... It’s been a while since I played, ok?" His jaw tightened. “Shouldn’t be here too long. I promise I'm as thrilled about it as you are.”
Before Shane could answer, the director tapped the podium, and the room quieted.

Shane and Jackie both nearly jumped out of their skin when they heard a loud, metallic bang from across the park. The whole park was suddenly quiet, and the following few seconds felt like they were stretched into minutes. Shane quickly turned around and looked at the playground for his kids, instinctively needing to make sure they were okay. His eyes found them quickly, and relief briefly filled his body. Both kids apparently in one piece and accounted for.
He kept looking around, his feet now picking up speed as they numbly carried him forward.
Shane felt a sudden rush of cold over his body. “Where’s Ilya?” he quietly said to himself. He knew Ilya would’ve stayed near their son. So where was he?
OR: Ilya is more than used to hockey injuries. This time, however, his most recent concussion happens off the ice and involves his own child, and no one in the Hollander-Rozanov family handles it well.

What happens when intimacy is turned into a spectacle?

With the projector as the only evidence, what is on trial is their love: a bond that does not seek to deliver a verdict or point fingers at the guilty or innocent, but rather to set a precedent that will change the world of hockey forever.
