She was ladybug, she was adopted, she had a twin brother, she was raised in the League of Assassins...Or: Marinette and Damian are twins, they were separated at the age of 8 when the League was attacked, and Marinette lost her memory in a car crash before being adopted by a lovely French couple. Damian, meanwhile, deals with the loneliness of being separated from his supposedly dead twin he never told anyone about. They will only meet again as Ladybug and Robin, until they figure out who the other is and they reconnect.

Summary
When video evidence of Marinette Dupain-Cheng actually pushing Lila Rossi down the stairs one Monday morning surfaces, it starts off a chain of events that Marinette would love to call one big cosmic joke.
In the wake of Hawkmoth’s defeat, there’s quite literally no akuma for her to blame a bizarre duplicate of herself on. With tensions mounting and accusations being thrown her parents opt to reach out to the biological mother who gave her up for adoption, if only to get her out of an increasingly hostile situation.
There’s just one problem with that: that being her biological mother is dead.

Summary
Mariam al Ghul died when she was seven years old by order of the league of assassins.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng has lived the last eight years of her life thinking that her twin brother hated her and wanted her dead, and now her class was being forced to go to Gotham, where he lives on a trip. She is not okay with this for a variety of reasons, but guardian duties and whatever hope she has left for her brother compelled her to go anyway.
After all, avoiding both her family and the local vigilantes shouldn’t be too hard, right?
