Summary
He can’t fix it. No one can fix something that had never really been there in the first place. He can’t unlearn the truth, and he is too exhausted to try to live in the lie. It was time to go.

Summary
“We are the same, Charles.” This time Erik growled it at him. “I see it in your eyes. I’ve always seen it and yet you’ve always held back. Too afraid of what others might do.” There was some truth in Erik’s biting words. He had indeed been afraid. However he hadn’t been afraid of what others might do. He was afraid of what he might do.

Summary
"From the moment you are reborn, you’re set out into a game of survival, every demon for itself. You are given the singular goal of forever becoming stronger, faster, smarter. There is no point in companionship. There is no benefit in staying together. Even now you both present weakness, baring your throats for the other to survive. Is it not futile? Is it not worthless?”
“He’s my brother.” Technoblade breathes out, unwavering, despite the terror so clearly kept.
Philza narrows his eyes.
(OR, demons do not possess humanity. They do not possess love. They can come very close to it, though. They can nearly try.)

Summary
“Are you really going to do this?” Wilbur asks again, but it wavers less than the first time, and there is something steely, something cold in the question. A threat in the delivery. “You’re going to try and stop me, now? Come save the day, like a hero should?”
Saving the day isn’t why Techno became a hero, but he’ll admit, in all the insufferable training he’s sat through, that sort of message did stick. Like glue to his fingers, or maybe gum on his shoe. He is a hero now. He’s meant to save people. Save the day.
“You’ve gone too far.” Techno mutters.
(Or, twinsduo superhero/supervillain au. Wilbur steps a little too far over the edge, and Techno follows.)

Summary
Dream’s mask seems to be looking off into the distance, head raised with one hand held into the air, and the other grasped onto his sword, too little, too late. Technoblade stares at him with narrowed eyes, lip curled in a scowl, his tusks only adding to the image of danger. They are at a standstill, kept like statues, Wilbur only being able to lift his head up and witness.
“If you kick my son again,” Technoblade tells Dream, voice low. “I'm going to cut your head off.”
There’s no hint of a false word in his threat. Wilbur finds the protection over him comforting for a moment, his worries relieved, his fear settling. Then he catches onto the wording, and he remembers very well that son is not the word for Techno to have.

The Olympians vote to kill Percy at the Winter Solstice, long before he has the chance to turn sixteen. But the war still needs a prophecy child. The Titans have stolen the Sword of Hades, and they bring Percy back to offer him a deal: if he fights for them, he’ll get his revenge.
Unfortunately, Percy Jackson has never done what anyone expected of him.

Summary
There was chaos when the Greek warship entered New Rome from the sky.
Annabeth watched from the deck, as the Romans ran out of buildings like headless chickens below. Some just shouted and pointed, others ducked into ditches with their hands over their heads, while others brandished mops and chairs like weapons. There was none of that famous Roman order that Jason kept talking about; it was like New Rome hadn’t expected the Greeks to show up at all.
She scanned the crowd, butterflies fluttering low in her stomach. But the more people she looked over, the more her heart sank. There was no distinctive mop of black hair. Percy wasn’t in the crowd.
~~~
Or, when Juno gave Percy the choice between New Rome and the ocean, Neptune intervened. This changes everything. This is a small art and fic challenge for MerMay!
