Summary
It's expected that things are difficult during the end of the world, but actually living through them brings a stress no one human could ever survive alone. It's a real shame that 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 is all the Protagonist has ever yearned for, and now his sanctuary was being threatened far before he could even learn to enjoy it.
People aren't inherently evil, but sometimes he feels like 𝘩𝘦 is. Trapped in this house with the sun burning everything that dares to greet it, surrounded by people he has no choice but to get along with, maybe he'll finally learn whether or not he's capable of the tenderness he's hoped for.
Maybe along the way he'll even make a few friends. Maybe, if he's really lucky, he'll find love again.

Summary
I thought I was past this, there isn't any need for some social charade when there's barely a society left anymore to see it.
Yet time and time again I find myself making the rounds, I guess it keeps the monotony of this fucking house a little more bearable. We all have to pass the time some way. Just another task to mark off the list to bide a little time from going crazy. That's what we're all doing. There can be a comfort there, in that passing conversation. There's certainly a comfort in not having to delve any further than that. With each good morning, each "how do you do", I know all I have to answer's the same simple answers each time. The little lies of comfort in this burning world. Though maybe that's my fault for getting used to anything in this fucked up version of something I once knew. Apparently, all it takes to break any cycle is a simple knock on the door, and a persistent enough prying eye...
Protag appears at a standstill, the grief of his late wife having hardened his heart he's desperately tried everything to keep himself from caring about anyone. Though faced with someone who not only mirrors his grief, but is determined to figure him out, he struggles grasping these newfound feelings.Bookmarked by Hal_o

Summary
You don't like talking to people. You don't like how they look at you like you did something wrong by just existing. The man in your closet is different. He doesn't think what you say is odd, because he doesn't know what you say. You don't know what he says either. It's perfect. especially when you can't handle the pressures of the end of the world.

Summary
After an unforeseen event within his home, the Protagonist finds himself completely and utterly alone and in no way capable of defending himself against the encroaching night... and the impending arrival of the Intruder. However, he's in luck (though he wouldn't exactly call it that). The madman who has consistently shown up on the Protagonist's front door step, demanding proof of humanity, has received a gift in the form of a bullet in the shoulder, the result of a crossfire between himself and a residence of suspected Visitors. The Protagonist would much rather have anyone else in his house than that maniac (which is shocking considering his approach to people in general), but he finds himself incredibly surprised at the sudden impulse to carry on with his sad and miserable life.
