But the thing that went deeper inside of him than his mind or his heart, and maybe even the instincts that were screaming at him to heal and protect was calm. It had a practiced, alert confidence that whispered “You have done this before. You can do this again”. That thing inside of him was ancient, and on the surface level it felt like something other inside of him. But it really wasn’t, once he looked a little deeper.
“Okay,” Riley whispered to himself. “Okay, this is a really, really bad idea."
Methodically, much too slow for the situation at hand but slow enough to stave off the panic that was screaming at him that everything was about to change, he took off his gloves.
And then he rested his hands on the bare skin of the boy’s neck.
Friede, he realized without realizing, his name is Friede.
And then everything went blue.Or - Riley isn't a normal Aura Guardian (not that he even knows what those are at this point), Friede and Orla just barely escaped from a cult, and Blue caught Mew.
Nothing a cross-continent journey to find a (hopefully) still alive grandfather while being chased by *two* evil organizations can't fix, right? -

Dean Winchester is a hell of a hunter, but everyone knows he's a little standoffish, a little cold. Until the night a young, shaggy-haired stranger saves him from a demon attack, leaving behind nothing but an alias, a funny looking blade, and a lot of questions.
Sam knows the only way to save the people he loves is to stay far away from them. He knows in the other timeline he ruined everything. This new life that Gabriel created is so much better for everyone. Even if it means he can never be Sam Winchester, can never be Dean's brother.
As events and memories start to echo across to the new timeline, Sam has to face who he really is and Dean has to choose who he becomes.

Summary
After Jack strips him of his powers, Chuck is left human and pretty darn lonely, even if Amara suddenly feels the need to Big Sister him to death.
Chuck kinda hates Cas, who changed his story and constantly came back even when Chuck didn’t have a hand in his resurrections, but here’s the thing: Cas was kinda the only angel who actually loved humanity like Chuck asked (even if it ended up being a pain in the ass in the end), and while they were well past the chance to have any sort of father-son relationship, when Chuck sat down and thought about it, the haphazard rewrites Cas and the Winchesters made on everything weren’t completely awful, even if they went against Chuck’s plans. Besides, they were both human now.
Also, Cas never changes his phone number.
So… sometimes Chuck gets drunk and calls up his wayward son.
And sometimes, Cas answers
(Also four times and two alternate universes where Cas Really could've used a dad).
