He hisses through his teeth and winces in solidarity with the man. Roy just stares at him. Spiderman cocks his head and puts a hand on his hip as if to say well?
“Yeah yeah, come on then.” Spiderman trails after him, thankfully not dripping blood on the wood floors. Though Roy thinks he wouldn’t mind cleaning up the mess. “Spidertwat.” Spiderman laughs at that.

“I know what a camera is, Jamie,” Roy says in an exasperated tone “Why is it in your hands? Are you being so underpaid you have to take a second job as a fucking pap?”
“Roy, I’ll always be underpaid, no amount of money can pay for the miracles I perform on that pitch,” Jamie brags with his free hand on his chest, Roy looks at him the whole time like he wants to murder him “This is just some therapy shit, or summat.”
“What is therapeutic about taking fucking pictures?” Roy asks him entirely confused instead of his regular angry.
“I don’t know, you tell me,” Jamie responds and seems lost in thought.

Summary
“What the fuck is this? What are you doing here?” Roy asked after what seemed quite some time with his eyes squinted, like he wasn’t about to go meet Jamie at his house himself.
Jamie gives a small easy laugh and offers the bouquet he was holding to Roy, who recoils, still not sure this wasn’t a crazy deathtrap.
“Hey, calm down, old man, this isn’t the war, it’s just some lilies,” Jamie still holds out the flowers and tries to get them closer to Roy who still flinches back “Lilies are cute pretty flowers, they’re no harm, don’t worry.”
Roy still raised an eyebrow at him and Jamie rolled his eyes and brought the flowers close to his own face and gave them a good whiff.
“See? Not dead, no need to worry, okay?” Jamie says offering the bouquet back to Roy who reluctantly accepts after a couple of seconds, smelling it tentatively. It was a nice smell. I mean, all flowers kind smelled like funerals in some way or another, but these were nice.

Or, Jamie starts giving Roy flowers out of the blue. Roy has no fucking clue what is happening.

Summary
So if he didn’t bring a guest, he’d be stuck at a table with Keeley and her new girlfriend, Ted with Sassy, and Rebecca. Rebecca and Sassy were okay—except in a show of solidarity with Keeley, Rebecca didn’t really talk to him anymore and Sassy was a bit much after a few drinks. He couldn’t imagine spending the entire night with that group and staying sane. Plus, showing up without a date gave the impression that he hadn’t moved on yet. Normally, he didn’t give a fuck about what impression he gave, but he didn’t want to look like the fucking pathetic, lonely wanker that he was. He couldn’t think of anybody he could invite—or would even want to invite—but there was one person who would probably find it just as tedious and awkward.
And, even better, Roy could make him go.
(Or Roy will take any excuse to ask Jamie on a date even though he's not ready to admit to himself if he wants to go on a date with Jamie)
