Summary
In reality, though, it’s the chill settling through his bones that jerks him out of slumber — even through a thick hoodie, socks, two blankets, and a duvet.
It’s the type of chill that comes from absence, and as Buck buries his face further into the pillow that smells all wrong, absently reaching out to the space next to him, he realizes exactly why.

Summary
It wasn’t until a few days later when Eddie was doing laundry that he came across Buck’s discarded clothes. He must’ve tossed them in the hamper after his shower, Eddie holding the warn and stained clothing up in his hands.
Eddie toyed with the fabric, clutching it a little in his hands. Buck’s clothes were in his laundry, mixed with his and Chris’, like they belonged, like Buck was a part of their family.
Against his better judgement, Eddie brought the clothes up to his face, closing his eyes as he inhaled. While they smelled awful, reeking of soot, sweat, and blood, they also smelled like Buck, like home and safety. Eddie couldn’t get enough.
—or—
Five times Buck leaves his clothes at Eddie's, and the one time they're right where they belong

Summary
Eddie probably looked really stupid right now. “Buck-switched it?”
Bobby nodded. “Yeah, he’s taking a nap in the bunks right now.” He looked over at Eddie and tilted his head. “What’s so special about tonight?”
Eddie blinked, “Um- It’s Chris’ science fair.” He looked out the window and over at the people talking by the kitchen. “Didn’t Buck work a 24-hour, and then cover Alvez for overtime?” Bobby nodded. “Has he left the station in two days?”
Bobby blew out a breath of air and shook his head. “I had him do the coffee run, you know, change of scenery. I also made him take a nap which is probably the only reason he’s sleeping right now. I have Johnson babysitting him, to make sure he actually sleeps.”
Eddie rubbed his face with his hands and sighed heavily. “That’s just so…” He lets out a strangled laugh.
“Buck.” Bobby supplied. “You should talk to him.” He muttered as more of an afterthought.
“About which thing?” Eddie gave Bobby a look and Bobby gave a look right back.

Summary
Except the firehouse doesn’t have a weighted blanket.
It does, however, have—
“Buck?” Eddie tilts his head back against the couch cushion, looking at Buck sitting at the dining table with the cap of his pen between his teeth.
“Hm?” He looks up from the crossword, glancing at Eddie.
“What’s up?”
“Can you come here for a second?”
“Okay, sure.”
Buck caps the pen and drops it on the table with a clatter. His chair scrapes against the floor of the loft with a sound that makes Eddie’s teeth ache. Each step Buck takes across the loft rattles Eddie’s bones to the point that a Jack and the Beanstalk joke sits on the tip of his tongue.

OR Eddie turns Buck into his personal weighted blanket.
