    Ballister doesn't walk away from the ending of the movie unscathed but he's totally fine. Some days are worse than others.

    Sometimes, he just feels so disconnected from reality that he's pretty sure he could just stop existing and the world would keep turning (and he's done a pretty good job of hiding it so far).

    OR: Ballister has a panic attack on a date with his boyfriend and the repressed trauma of the past few weeks breaks open like a dam. Said-boyfriend does his best to help.
