Summary
Atsushi can smell emotions. It was a survival skill that had helped him throughout his life.
But there is this certain scent that piqued his interest. A scent that he can't quite discern. The scent he picked up whenever his mentor and Mafia Executive Nakahara Chuuya interacts. It confuses him.
They definitely care for each other. So why? Why did both try to hide it under cold front and barbed insults? Why pretend to be oblivious and ignore it?

Atsushi fidgets in his seat, trying to find a way to ask the question he'd been meaning to ask the Mafia Executive for awhile.
"If you have something to say kid, spit it out. I don't have all day,"
"Are you in love with Dazai-san?"
Said Executive merely raised an eyebrow, staring back at him.
"Is this about Akutagawa?"
Atsushi did not expect that.

Atsushi confronts Chuuya about his relationship with his mentor, but gets advice about Akutagawa instead.

He understands, as a weight sinks into his bones, making them heavier, as it settles over his shoulders, forcing it to bend to its gravity, as the weight makes it a little bit harder to breathe.
"Meaning, the sickeningly human chibi is abandoning his humanity."
The taunting singsong lilt back in its place.
"What in the world happened that the fifteen years old who's only purpose of living is knowing whether he's human or not choose to abandon being human?"

They've talked about this, how Mori's demand for Yosano-sensei was a ruse for his real target was Dazai. So despite the tension in the air, it's to no one's surprise when his mentor's name came out of Mori's mouth.
No one raised their voice from the Agency's side. They've predicted this outcome. There's nothing they can do. There's nothing he can do. Atsushi grips the table in front of him till his knuckles turned white.
"Now if there are no further objections—"
"I don't think that's a good idea boss."
A voice interjects. Surprisingly, not from their side, but from the other.
It was Nakahara Chuuya.

Summary
After coming back to his home world-line, getting used to walking around a rebuilt Seoul has taken Kim Dokja a lot of time. Seeing the smiles on his companions' faces when they hung out with him even more so. Learning to be more selfish in day-to-day life was truly a challenge for the reader.
An even bigger challenge was seeing that thing every time he walked past the industrial complex.
(Or, me going insane thinking about the Kim Dokja statue)
