    Summary

After Aerion Targaryen is defeated during the Trial of the Seven, his father devises a harsher punishment than simply sending him off to Lys. He rules that his wayward son, the only omega of House Targaryen, will be given in marriage to Ser Duncan the Tall, newly enobled and enriched by the king.

Forced into wedlock with the man who bested him, Aerion has to battle with his own guilt and rage, as well as the budding emotions building up between him and his foe.

Lilacs. He sighed, nerves calming. Light, like a warm summer breeze. With a note of ash.

    Were there flowers burning nearby?

There couldn't be. Unless the patch he’s been sniffing out was on fire. Dunk had actually tried to search for it, but he found nothing.

    Unless…

    No, that's impossible.

in which dunk relocates to a cabin that ser arlan used to own before he died, and he meets an unusual feral omega out in the woods.

    Summary

“If he is of the chieftain’s blood, he must be killed as well,” one of them said. His rank was evident in the heavy fur upon his shoulders and the ornamented blade at his side. The square fell suddenly silent.

“Too precious to kill,” the one called Dunk murmured. His voice was not loud enough for the others, nor did he seem to speak to them at all.

He only looked at Aerion. As if there were something in his eyes he meant to take. He kept looking, and looking, until the dull grey in his blue eyes seemed to lift, as though some long-rusted lock within him had been broken open.

“Or we could sell him. He would fetch a fine price.”

“Too precious to sell,” the alpha said again. Even if Aerion did not understand the words, he knew it was a refusal.

“He is mine by right of the axe,” he declared then, his voice rising this time, loud enough for the whole square to hear.

In which Aerion is meant to be a bride, loses everything before the vows can be spoken, and is claimed instead by the man who destroyed his world.

    Summary

Duncan thought of that dragon helm looming before him on the battlefield: reptilian, nightmarish. The man within, lithe and deadly as a snake. The Targaryen had fought with all the grace and finesse Duncan lacked. He fought like a prince. He fought like a knight. How crude Duncan's own jabs and punches seemed beside the prince's clever strikes and parries. Duncan envied him. Admired him as a mountain might admire the lightning that struck its side. He recalled the smoothness and surety with which the prince moved his slender body. He'd felt the strength in that body when he took it in his hands and smashed it against the wet dirt. He'd felt the lightness of that body when the Targaryen climbed atop Duncan and pummelled him until Duncan couldn't see, couldn't think. He recalled the prince's knife stabbing the soft place above his liver, then piercing through his hand like a nail through wood. He remembered the smell of the prince's fear when Duncan held him down and looked at him: helm off, blood-stricken, mouth full of pale teeth. I yield. I yield.

    __

After the trial, Dunk is lost and Aerion is desperate. Aerion's sudden heat gives him one last chance to see the hedge knight executed—if Duncan takes the bait.
