Cassidy Quinn joined the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit in 2002 after leaving her hometown of Honolulu behind and moving to the East Coast. Cassie found herself needing a change, and as someone with a past like hers, becoming a profiler at the BAU and hunting down some of the worst criminals that humanity has to offer gave her both a respite and a purpose.
But, after being partnered with former Chicago cop/ATF agent Derek Morgan since the very first day she joined the unit, Agent Quinn wonders if she might've bitten off more than she can chew. The Bureau frowns upon inter-team relationships, and Cassie has worked too hard to get where she is today to let a man unknowingly threaten her career.
Her heart is not as stubborn as her brain, though, and that, in and of itself, is the entire problem.

Eleanor Whitney doesn't fuck around with ghosts.
She's always believed, especially since two of her best friends grew up in an absurdly haunted house, but it's been six years since she's done any sort of investigating into the possible existence of the so-called "Other Side", her last investigation ending with her being brutally scratched, pushed down the stairs of a haunted manor by an unknown entity, and culminating with her completely traumatized and boasting a shattered ankle.
Twenty-three now, Ellie is content as a library assistant at the Denver Public Library, and she's perfectly happy with leaving her previous occupation in the past. But when Dakota Laden shows up in Colorado with a proposition to join him, his sister, and two of their best friends on a cross-country road trip filming some of the most haunted locations in the country for a documentary show, Ellie is clueless as to why she agrees...
That's a lie; she knows why she agrees. She's had a crush on Tanner Wiseman since she was thirteen, and the years have done little to dispel it. Dakota is the only one who knows, but forced proximity is a funny thing, and maybe Ellie's girlhood crush wasn't as unrequited as she previously thought.

So, when she joins the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI and becomes a profiler when she's only 24, it doesn't make any sense at all why she clicks with former Chicago cop Derek Morgan instantaneously.
Derek may be her friend and partner, but even he doesn't know everything about Cassie's past, and she's willing to go to the grave with her secrets.
But, something she should learn quickly is that secrets, especially big ones like what she's hiding, are bound to come out eventually, and there's no putting them back in the box when they come out.
