He remembers racing after that retreating figure, and the shock of his infuser in his chest interrupting his sprint, and then the drum of his boots pounding the earth as he hunted the traitor's path after tailing him narrowly through the gap in the flames.

The trembling moves up his legs and spreads throughout his whole body. He presses himself into Kinako’s side. He hates the extra foot he gave himself. He wants nothing more than to be small.
Kayaba displays the game menu. “I’m sure you’ve already noticed that the logout button on the main menu has been removed.”
Midoriya’s stomach drops. Removed.
Death in the game is nothing short of reality.
